What is headache?
Headache is a frequent health issue that most individuals face at some point.
Why do we get headaches?
- Stress and worry.
- Sickness like malaria, flu, or even high blood pressure.
- Hunger and dehydration.
- Physical factors like bumping your head or sleeping badly.
- Weather and environment like too much sun, noisy neighbors, or strong smells.
Types of headaches?
- Primary headaches: These come from issues with the brain, blood vessels, or nerves. Examples: Migraines (intense, pounding pain), tension headaches (stressrelated), and cluster headaches (intense pain around one eye, rare but super painful).
- Secondary headaches: These happen because of another health issue, like pregnancy, infections, brain tumor, stroke or high blood pressure.
When to see a doctor?
- If your headache feels like a thunderclap.
- If you feel confused, dizzy, or lose consciousness.
- If it keeps coming back no matter what you do.
- Triggered by coughing, sneezing, or exercise.
How to treat and prevent headaches?
- Rest and relax, don’t stress too much!
- Drink water
- Take painkillers (wisely!) – Paracetamol or ibuprofen can help, but don’t overdo it.
- Limit screen time.
- See a doctor, If the headache is too serious or won’t go away.
