Science Says Masturbation May Be Good for Prostate Health
It may sound surprising, but new research confirms what earlier studies showed: regular ejaculation can protect men’s prostate health.
An 18-year study of more than 30,000 men found that those who ejaculated 21 or more times each month had up to 22% lower risk of prostate cancer compared to men with fewer releases. The benefit was strongest in men in their 20s and 40s.
Why does this help? Scientists believe frequent ejaculation cleans the prostate by flushing out harmful substances. It also reduces stress in the gland and may help genes that keep it healthy.
This is not a replacement for medical care. Men should still eat healthy food, exercise, and go for prostate checks.
But the research shows that a natural, private habit can be part of prevention.
For Africa, where prostate cancer is rising, this is a strong reason to speak openly about men’s health.
