Common health issues for African women?

Many women in Africa face serious health risks, including:

  • Breast cancer: The most common cancer, affecting thousands yearly.
  • Heart disease: Caused by stress, bad diets, and lack of exercise.
  • Diabetes: More than 24 million African women have it!
  • High blood pressure: Often ignored until it’s too late.

Eat right for a healthier you

  • Yes to: Mangoes, okra, millet, beans, fish, and palm oil (moderation!).
  • No to: Too much salt, sugar, fried foods, and processed snacks.

Sexual & reproductive health

  • Use protection & get STI screenings.
  • Choose a family planning method that works for you.
  • Take antenatal vitamins during pregnancy.

Breast health & regular checkups

  • Do monthly self-exams.
  • If 40+, get mammograms.

Managing stress & aging gracefully

  • Pray, meditate, or listen to music.
  • Spend time with loved ones.
  • Stay active & laugh often!
